Counseling Workshop:
Our team had the opportunity to participate in a three-day intensive "Foundations in Counseling" workshop. This training was designed to deepen our understanding of how to engage with children in meaningful and supportive ways.
Regardless of the department, each team member plays a crucial role in creating a safe space where children feel heard, valued, and empowered. By building these foundations, we ensure that every interaction fosters trust and opens the door for important conversations that can truly make a difference in their lives.
Kitchen Day:
Every Monday, women of all ages are invited to our Eastleigh Outreach Center to take classes with our "Mother's Program".
Last month, catering students in our vocational training program visited to teach those in the class how to make chapatis, samosas, and mandazis (traditional Kenyan dishes).
For 17-year-old Meshack, this lesson was personal. Among the other women learning was his mother, Lucy. He had the chance to thoughtfully guide her through each step so that his mother could make these for his younger sister.
As these mothers take steps toward self-reliance, they leave not just with knowledge, but with confidence and a support system that believes in them!

Parents Day:
Parents Day is always a cherished occasion at MADE IN THE STREETS.
For the students currently at our boarding school in Kamulu, it's a wonderful opportunity to reconnect and bond with their families.
The afternoon was filled with laughter and shared meals as families spent time together, strengthening their connections and enjoying each other’s company.
