OUR MISSION

The mission of MADE IN THE STREETS is to love and serve children from the streets of Nairobi, Kenya - meeting their physical, emotional & spiritual needs; loving them fully; equipping them to earn a living & sending them out to a new life.

For 29 years, we have existed to provide love, education, and job training to young people living on the streets.

Our vision is to break the cycle of poverty and street life by providing holistic care and empowerment in a sustainable manner.

We dream of the day when the phrase "starving kids in Africa" becomes a relic of the past.

The reality is that thousands of boys and girls are living on the streets in Kenya. MADE IN THE STREETS exists to intervene and end the cycle of homeless youth living on the streets of Nairobi. We provide food, water, shelter, education, job training skills, and God's love to some of the most vulnerable kids in East Africa. â€‹â€‹â€‹

We will not grow weary. Because it's worth it.

Our Approach

Outreach

Our outreach team works in Eastleigh to create relationships with kids living on the streets. After weeks and months of consistently building trust, we invite them to participate in the programs at our center where we offer first aid, Bible study, food, games, and counseling.

Rehabilitation and Education

Our boarding school offers two types of education: literacy and skills training. Our literacy program has courses in English, Swahili, Bible, math, computer, social studies, and science. Once a student turns 16, they transition to our skills training where they can choose a trade. We offer training in cosmetology, catering, welding, IT, and auto-mechanics.

Aftercare

After our students graduate, our Aftercare team supports them as they transition to their professional careers and adult life. Our team visits former students on a regular basis to offer emotional and spiritual encouragement to them regularly. We also provide initial financial support as they secure employment.
