MISSION SPECIALIST

GOT SKILLS?
WE'VE GOT PLANS FOR YOU.
Mission Specialists are individuals with a specific skill set who offer their presence, expertise, and mentorship to help us improve our staff and programs.
The sky's the limit on what that purpose might be, but here are a few examples of Mission Specialists we've had in the past:
  • A marriage and family therapist who planned and led small group therapy sessions with our students during school hours.
  • A veteran teacher who mentored some of our staff into greater effectiveness in the classroom.
  • A career carpenter who dedicated his visit to hours spent in our woodworking shop, improving our furniture and making new beds for students.
  • A doctor who volunteered his days to running a health clinic at the Eastleigh Centre, offering exams, physicals, and medical advice to our street community. He also coached our street ministry staff on better first aid practices.

Unlike our internships, there is no minimum time commitment for Mission Specialists. A Mission Specialist serves with MITS for any length of time, from a few days to a few months.
