DESCRIPTION:
As you have probably noticed, much of what we do at MADE IN THE STREETS involves education. When all is said and done, we are a school, and our students—all of whom are former street kids—are at the center of all our programs. As a Teacher's Aide, you will partner with us in the classroom to love and serve our students on a daily basis. Teacher's Aides spend their days in the Learning Centre (where all our classes are held). As a Teacher's Aide, your duties might vary greatly throughout the week, which keeps your time with us exciting. Though this role requires flexibility, the primary function is the same: to assist our teachers and administrators. This might look different on different days. For example, a Teacher's Aide might:
MUST HAVE:
EXPECTATIONS: 1. Work with the Learning Centre Director and the rest of the Learning Centre staff to establish your weekly schedule. 2. Write a monthly article, to be posted in the MITS blog, that highlights various aspects of your life in the classrooms and halls of the Learning Centre. FUNDRAISING: We provide you with fundraising tools and coaching to help you raise funds for your trip and recruit a team of supporters to be a part of this experience with you.
