Like all people, our students at MITS have stories. In their short lives before MITS, they have experienced joy and pain, adventure and loss, meaningful relationships and difficult choices.

When you come to visit MITS in Kenya, chances are one of the students will approach you one day, tap you on the shoulder, and say these simple words, "I want to tell you my story." That moment is a tremendous blessing, both for you and for the student.

Part of the process of healing from the trauma of life on the streets is to record each student’s story in written form. Our staff members sit with the students to listen and record the events of their lives. Through this process, the students learn their stories are not something to be ashamed of, but rather they contain the good news of the redemption of Jesus. That is the story of all our lives. We encourage you to read these stories of loss & recovery and see your own story mirrored in the lives of these precious students. We are all the lost sheep. We are all the lost coin. (Luke 15:1-10)

This eBook is a compilation of the stories of 8 students: Alex Mwangi, Beatrice Mbithe, Brenda Wasike, Dennis Kimani, Dennis Maina, Eric Kimathi, Eugene Kariuki, & Tobias Otieno.

Thank you for loving street kids.
