MITS Internship Overview
The MITS internship is made up of 3 parts: training, service and awareness.
The training portion takes place during the spring semester, while the interns are in school at their various universities. During this time, they raise funds to cover the cost of their trip and plan the summer tour. Once finals are over, part 2 begins. The team of interns travels to Nairobi, Kenya, where they spend 1 month living and working at Made in the Streets. After their month of service, they return to the States to tell the stories of what they have seen and learned. This is the 3rd part of the internship: The Handmade Tour. Over the course of the 4-6 week tour, the interns cover thousands of miles, sell lots of t-shirts, and bring awareness about the work MITS is doing in Kenya to audiences across the United States. |
Want to get involved right away? The 2013 Handmade Tour is booking now and will be underway in June and July.
